Senior Designer (Fixed Voice)

Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid work with office attendance 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design and optimisation of resilient, secure Fixed Voice solutions.
• Create high-level and low-level designs, architecture documentation, implementation plans, and technical support documentation.
• Collaborate with technology, operations, business teams, suppliers, cloud providers, and delivery partners.
• Provide technical leadership across the design, implementation, testing, assurance, and support lifecycle.
• Improve services through automation, standardisation, process optimisation, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to governance forums, technology roadmaps, transformation initiatives, and innovation programmes.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and delivering telecommunications solutions in complex technology environments.
• Strong expertise in Fixed Voice technologies, including SIP, VoIP, interconnect services, and voice network architectures.
• Knowledge of Softswitches, Media Gateways, IMS platforms, Session Border Controllers, Intelligent Networks, PBX, and IVR solutions.
• Experience producing technical designs, architectures, implementation plans, and supporting documentation.
• Understanding of Telco Cloud technologies, including NFV, SDN, virtualised networks, and cloud-native deployment models.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Secure Vetting (SC) clearance; employment is subject to criminal and financial background checks.
