TL;DR
Sourcing Specialist/Category Manager (Solar Energy): Sourcing and managing suppliers for clean cooking products and solar home system components with an accent on supplier development, cost control, quality assurance, and procurement risk management. Focus on negotiating OEM/JDM/ODM agreements, optimizing electronics sourcing, resolving delivery and quality issues, and coordinating material requirements across R&D, Quality, Operations, Projects, and Finance.

What you will do

  • Source, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage suppliers for stoves, regulators, sensors, PCBs, PCBAs, cables, connectors, and related components.
  • Support new product introductions and develop sourcing plans and cost-control strategies for clean cooking and solar-powered products.
  • Lead price negotiations and contract discussions covering technical specifications, delivery schedules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain supplier records and conduct quarterly performance reviews covering quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Identify cost-reduction, localization, supplier-consolidation, bulk-purchasing, and supply-chain optimization opportunities.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Projects, Quality, Operations, and Finance, while resolving quality disputes and delivery delays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of procurement experience, including 5+ years in electronics sourcing or procurement.
  • Specialized market knowledge and a strong network of reliable suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Experience with OEM, JDM, and ODM models, including PCB, PCBA, and connector sourcing.
  • Proficiency with ERP or other procurement software and data analysis tools, plus strong negotiation, vendor management, and risk management skills.
  • English proficiency at CET-4 level or higher and experience with international procurement or cross-border negotiations.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of photovoltaic component certifications and RoHS requirements for electronic components.
  • Experience monitoring market price fluctuations and technology developments.
