Java Engineering Manager (iGaming)

Location: Ukraine; remote

A product company building Social Casino and gaming experiences, with an AI-driven engineering organization focused on high-load, real-time software.

What you will do

• Lead Data Activation teams while owning delivery outcomes across cross-functional initiatives.
• Develop engineers through performance reviews, career growth, and clear people management.
• Set architecture and code-quality standards while making pragmatic technical trade-offs.
• Partner with Product Managers, analysts, and stakeholders to define initiatives and remove execution blockers.
• Improve planning and coordination practices as the organization scales.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements for production systems.

Requirements

• Substantial backend engineering experience with deep Java expertise and strong software development fundamentals.
• Experience building and operating high-load, event-driven, cloud-native systems at scale.
• Track record of leading teams that deliver complex production systems while balancing technical direction and people management.
• Production operations experience, including incident response, post-mortems, and platform improvements.
• Strong product sense, delivery ownership, stakeholder alignment, and trade-off communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely from Ukraine.

Nice to have

• Experience in iGaming, fintech, or other high-throughput, real-time platforms.
• Transition from a senior individual contributor role such as Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, Principal, or Solution Architect into people leadership.
• Hands-on familiarity with Kafka, Kubernetes, or Google Cloud Platform.
