AI Agent Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in downtown Toronto, Canada; engineers may choose where to work on Wednesdays.

Base salary: CA$110,000–CA$200,000 per year, depending on experience, plus meaningful equity.

Gigi develops an agentic operating system for enterprise media buying, with an AI media manager for Amazon DSP.

What you will do

• Build and ship AI agent capabilities end to end, from data and tools through reasoning, execution, and customer-facing interfaces.
• Develop agent logic, backend services, data models, APIs, and product features using Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, LangChain, TypeScript, Vue, Nuxt, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Design judgment and risk controls that determine when agents act autonomously and when they escalate to a human.
• Build retrieval, memory, orchestration, guardrails, and human approval flows for reliable operation inside advertising accounts.
• Evaluate agent behavior through traces, prompts, production failures, regression tests, and customer feedback.
• Join customer calls and translate media buyer problems into shipped product improvements.

Requirements

• Track record of building and shipping production software used by real customers.
• Strong backend or full-stack software engineering experience covering system design, APIs, data models, testing, debugging, and production operations.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs or agents through professional work, open source, or a substantial personal project.
• Comfort working across the stack, with strong depth in at least one area.
• Ability to use and critically review AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Strong judgment, ownership, and speed while maintaining architecture, correctness, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Production experience with evaluations, guardrails, tool use, retrieval, agent orchestration, cost, or latency optimization.
• Experience building evaluation datasets or improving agent behavior using production traces and customer feedback.
• Advertising or ecommerce experience.
• Experience with real-time data pipelines or early-stage startup environments.
• Experience operating systems where correctness, permissions, auditability, or customer trust were important.
