Gen AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote - Canada

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 CAD per year, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement prompts for data labeling, localization, translation, and human evaluation workflows.
• Prototype and validate AI models, identify automation opportunities, and translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Operations, linguists, localization experts, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze model performance using KPIs and evaluation metrics, improving accuracy, reliability, linguistic consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Collaborate on data pipelines and production workflows that integrate LLMs into automated annotation systems.
• Create prompt usage guidelines and training materials, and communicate technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, or related AI/ML roles.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, including transformer-based architectures, evaluation metrics, reliability, bias, and generalizability.
• Strong Python expertise for natural language understanding, data processing, transformation, and statistical analysis.
• Experience automating data annotation, classification, localization, and labeling tasks programmatically with LLMs.
• Experience with data pipelines, cloud platforms, containerization, model deployment, APIs, and production integrations.
• Knowledge of JSON, JavaScript or XML, and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jupyter, OpenAI, Hugging Face, or comparable tools.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with annotation and human-in-the-loop platforms such as Labelbox.
• Knowledge of localization best practices and cultural nuances across languages and regions.
