Production Process Support Engineer

What you will do

• Provide onsite and off-site technical support for the production of AB Sciex mass spectrometers.
• Perform process optimization, qualification, and validation activities.
• Apply DFA and pFMEA principles to reduce manufacturing cycle time and improve product quality.
• Lead cost, first-pass yield, and internal dppm improvement projects.
• Support product transfers and knowledge transfer covering design, specifications, manufacturing line setup, processes, tooling, and fixtures.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or lean environment.
• Strong mechanical engineering background with hands-on experience in precision-part assembly and alignment, micron-level measurement, tolerance stack-up, GD&T, MSA, pFMEA, and DFA.
• Ability to lead activities and projects with cross-functional groups, vendors, suppliers, and contractors independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in a multidisciplinary product development environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of parts used in vacuum systems, vacuum pump systems, and leak-check troubleshooting.
• Experience with ultrasonic cleaning or vapor degreasing.
• Knowledge of machining, sheet metal, molding, casting, or other parts fabrication processes.
