Construction Manager, Expert

Location: Brentwood, California; hybrid work from a remote office and an assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory, with onsite field responsibilities

Salary: $120,000–$190,000 base salary in California; Bay Area range: $126,000–$200,000

What you will do

• Manage gas transmission construction and improvement projects across civil, electrical, process instrumentation, and pipeline disciplines.
• Identify contract-worthy projects, assess feasibility and site details, prepare job packages and estimates, and support RFP and contract processes.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Gas Operations Supervisors, Engineering, contractors, inspectors, and internal support teams.
• Lead job walk-downs, scope discussions, design reviews, and construction meetings while providing constructability input.
• Monitor field construction activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, schedule, environmental, and land-permit requirements.
• Oversee field inspections, manage changes affecting cost and schedule, and act as Incident Commander and PG&E representative in the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in industrial engineering or construction; 9 years is preferred.
• Experience with gas transmission construction, carbon steel piping materials, welding processes, and applicable construction standards.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, inspection, contract administration, project scheduling, and cost control.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Unifier, Primavera Contracts Manager, Prolog, or similar tools.
• Ability to work in hybrid and onsite settings within the PG&E Service Territory, including field and job-site activities.
