Embedded Software Engineer (Power)

Location: San Diego, United States; expected to work in the office 4+ days per week

Base salary: $178,000–$313,000 annually, depending on the assigned US pay zone; eligible for RSUs.

What you will do

• Design, architect, and implement embedded software for prototype and shipping consumer products.
• Develop system components across kernel, synchronization, resource allocation, memory management, security, I/O, persistence, camera, and audio layers.
• Participate in design reviews and peer code reviews to create reliable solutions.
• Triage, debug, track, and resolve product and system issues by analyzing their sources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of embedded software development experience with ARM architecture.
• Proficiency in C or C++.
• Experience with one or more of BSP, operating systems, embedded Linux, graphics, camera, audio, or display development.
• Knowledge of computer architecture, microprocessors, microcontrollers, schematics, and component data sheets.
• Strong analytical, debugging, documentation, source-control, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing power and performance across the Linux kernel, drivers, and user-space applications.
• Understanding of hardware design and the ability to read schematics.
