Senior Product Designer (AI)

Location: Primary residence required in or near approved cities in the United States, Canada, or Mexico; occasional in-person attendance is required.

Salary: $106,000–$184,000 annually outside California in the United States; $129,000–$194,000 annually in California; CAD 136,500–174,000 annually in Canada. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own onboarding, plans and pricing, referrals, and lifecycle experiences that convert readers into engaged subscribers.
• Design connections between Fable’s community and Everand’s library.
• Partner with Product, Research, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to identify opportunities, run experiments, and define success metrics.
• Take concepts from early exploration through production while maintaining strong interaction and visual quality across two brands.
• Prototype in code when appropriate, use AI to explore ideas, and validate designs through usability testing.
• Analyze customer behavior, research, competitive insight, and experiment results to guide the next design direction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience, including growth, monetization, or subscription products.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills with the ability to deliver high-quality work quickly.
• Experience shipping experiments that improved conversion, activation, retention, or revenue.
• Ability to think in customer journeys, make decisions using data and design judgment, and advocate for a clear point of view.
• Daily use of AI for exploration, prototyping, and understanding, with rigorous evaluation of its output.
• Resume and portfolio with at least three case studies demonstrating growth impact, visual craft, design rationale, and lessons from an unsuccessful test.

Nice to have

• Motion design experience.
• Experience with consumer subscription apps, mobile products, or community and social products.
• Strong interest in reading and how people discover, share, and continue using books.
