TL;DR

Location: On-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States; successful candidates must pass a U.S. government background check for on-site work at a government partner location.

Salary: $102,000–$154,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, technicians, and site leadership on safety topics from planning through execution.
  • Identify hazards, conduct Job Hazard Analyses and other risk assessments, and implement control measures.
  • Support the build and activation of launch pad ground support equipment, including high-pressure gas, cryogenic, flammable-liquid, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop Launch Operations safety processes and programs based on observations, identified gaps, and personnel feedback.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations using root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide long-term vehicle processing and launch support across hearing protection, respiratory protection, hazard communication, industrial hygiene, and related EHS areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience, preferably in pressure systems, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, launch operations, aerospace, or other complex technical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, ANSI, ASME, or related safety standards.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations in complex technical environments.
  • Experience with project management and continuous improvement for safety programs in a high-speed technical environment.
  • Ability to complete a U.S. government background check for on-site work at the government partner location.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-pressure or high-voltage systems, NFPA 70E, electrical safety, and lockout/tagout in industrial or launch environments.
  • Industrial hygiene experience, including air monitoring, noise dosimetry, respiratory protection, or toxicology.
  • ASP, CSP, OSHA 30-hour, CIH, or other professional safety certifications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Power BI and PowerApps.
