Manager, Ocean Procurement

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States

Base salary: $96,000–$120,000 USD per year, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead ocean carrier procurement for the Transpacific-Eastbound trade and manage carrier development and partnerships.
• Coordinate and negotiate annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly procurement activities.
• Build scalable procurement processes, operating rhythms, and tools for cost and pricing management.
• Lead rate setting and procurement strategy during the RFP season.
• Partner with commercial ocean and demand teams to win new business and execute the current book of business.
• Share carrier and tradelane intelligence, lead cross-team meetings, and resolve escalations across Asia and the U.S.

Requirements

• 7+ years of ocean procurement experience at a top freight forwarder, carrier trade experience, or 7+ years of supply chain experience with a BA/BS degree.
• Strategic vision and the ability to build processes from the ground up.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel regionally and internationally.
• Compliance-first mindset for work in a heavily regulated industry.
