Systems Engineer, Architecture (Microsoft 365)

What you will do

• Define and maintain the target-state architecture, technology roadmap, standards, and reference designs for internal systems.
• Own architecture across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, identity, endpoints, collaboration platforms, and the SaaS ecosystem.
• Design SSO, SCIM provisioning, conditional access, privileged access models, HRIS-driven provisioning, and SaaS integrations.
• Assess acquired environments and create repeatable tenant, identity, endpoint migration, and consolidation playbooks.
• Evaluate emerging platforms, lead proofs of concept, plan legacy-system retirement, and document architecture decisions and tradeoffs.
• Embed Zero Trust, device compliance, encryption, MFA, and EDR requirements into platform architecture.

Requirements

• Deep design-level experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID, including multi-tenant and consolidation scenarios.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager, including compliance frameworks and zero-touch provisioning for Windows and macOS.
• Strong IAM experience with SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, conditional access, role-based access, and privileged access models.
• Working knowledge of Azure, identity integration, networking fundamentals, APIs, iPaaS tools, PowerShell, or Graph API.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust, disk encryption, MFA enforcement, EDR, and remote-first security practices.
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and maintain clear documentation.

Nice to have

• AWS experience.
• Experience with technology due diligence, tenant migrations, environment consolidation, or M&A integration.
