Maintenance Lead (Industrial Maintenance)

Location: Charter Dura-Bar, Woodstock, Illinois, United States; onsite industrial manufacturing role

Salary: $36.50 per hour entry rate; actual base pay depends on skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Coordinate daily maintenance priorities and provide technical guidance to the maintenance team.
• Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial machinery and production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems and implement effective repairs.
• Support equipment setups, tooling changes, machine installations, equipment relocations, and preventive maintenance planning.
• Identify recurring equipment issues, recommend reliability improvements, track parts needs, and maintain accurate records.
• Train and coach maintenance teammates while partnering with the Maintenance Supervisor on scheduling, communication, safety, and department priorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Accredited maintenance apprenticeship, technical training with industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting, machine repair, preventive maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, welding, fabrication, pipefitting, and machine installation skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical procedures; use hand tools, power tools, and metalworking equipment.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout and industrial safety practices, plus strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading, training, or mentoring maintenance technicians.
• Industrial Maintenance Technology degree.
• Experience in a foundry, casting, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
