Project Engineer - Data Analysis (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid role based in Long Beach, California or Denver, Colorado; some work must be performed onsite.

Base salary: $130,000–$180,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports covering program health, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Define and standardize KPIs and metrics with Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and functional leads.
• Integrate data from cost accounting, ERP, scheduling, and engineering systems into reliable reporting pipelines.
• Translate technical and programmatic data into visualizations and narratives for engineers, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
• Own weekly, monthly, and milestone-based PMO reporting, including resource utilization, budget burn, risks, and program status.
• Perform root-cause and trend analysis, improve reporting infrastructure, support supplier scorecards, and drive corrective actions and data literacy.

Requirements

• Experience in project engineering, program management, or systems integration in a high-tech or aerospace environment, with a focus on metrics and data analysis.
• Hands-on Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, dashboard development, and publishing to Power BI Service.
• Experience transforming data from Excel, SQL databases, ERP, or cost systems into coherent reporting solutions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup and cross-functional, geographically dispersed environment.
• Eligible for a U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance; ITAR compliance requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility for the required authorizations. A bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 5 years, is required.

Nice to have

• Advanced Power BI capabilities such as Row-Level Security, paginated reports, and Power BI Embedded.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Power Automate, SQL Server, Earned Value Management, and aerospace program baselines.
• Experience with National Security aerospace reporting, data governance, ISO 9001:2000, Microsoft Office, or Atlassian tools.
• Active TS/SCI U.S. government clearance with SCI eligibility.
