Senior Manager, Supply Chain (Biotech)

Location: United States, California, El Segundo

Salary: $143,225–$185,350 per year, with potential annual bonus, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain production schedules across external manufacturing and CDMO/CMO networks.
• Translate demand plans into supplier forecasts, validate capacity reservations, and manage schedule stability and exceptions.
• Plan plasmid, cell bank, and other critical material availability in partnership with Procurement, Materials, Quality, and suppliers.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, reconcile invoices, and coordinate financial processing with Finance and Accounts Payable.
• Track supply chain KPIs including schedule adherence, capacity utilization, OTIF performance, forecast accuracy, inventory health, and PO accuracy.
• Lead cross-functional scheduling forums, shipment coordination, reporting improvements, and planning system integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field with relevant experience; advanced degrees may substitute for experience.
• Supply chain planning experience with strong exposure to external manufacturing and network or site planning.
• Deep understanding of GMP operations, batch-based production, external manufacturing, and global distribution flows.
• Experience managing supplier forecasts, contractual supply, purchase orders, and invoicing.
• Proficiency with ERP and advanced planning systems such as SAP, IBP, OMP, or Kinaxis.
• Strong influencing, analytical, scenario planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or an MBA.
• Experience with cell and gene therapy, commercial biologics, or sterile injectables.
• Experience planning plasmid and critical raw materials.
• Experience with S&OP/S&OE processes and supply governance frameworks.
