Senior Healthcare Data Analyst, Health Plan Strategy (Healthcare Analytics)

Location: West Los Angeles, California, United States. Hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday through Wednesday and remote work available Thursday and Friday.

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 annually, with a possible discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze medical, pharmacy, clinical, financial, and eligibility data to identify cost drivers, utilization patterns, and emerging trends.
• Build forecasting models, cost projections, trend analyses, and scenarios for budgeting and long-term health plan strategy.
• Translate healthcare analytics into recommendations for plan design, cost management, clinical programs, and employee health outcomes.
• Define financial, clinical, and utilization metrics and reporting frameworks for health plan performance.
• Evaluate health plan, vendor, and clinical program performance, including financial impact, outcomes, utilization, member experience, and ROI.
• Lead cross-functional analytical projects, prepare executive-ready presentations, and partner with Benefits leadership and the Chief Medical Officer.

Requirements

• 4+ years of healthcare data analytics experience with medical and/or pharmacy claims data.
• Hands-on experience with large healthcare datasets and healthcare cost, utilization, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency with SQL and reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
• Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, trend analysis, or healthcare cost analysis.
• Ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with self-funded employer populations, health plans, payers, TPAs, PBMs, benefits consulting, or healthcare analytics organizations.
• Knowledge of employer-sponsored benefits, health plan design, healthcare benchmarking, or clinical program evaluation.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
