Principal Network Engineer

Location: Remote – United States

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support scalable, highly available LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid network environments.
• Provide technical expertise across BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VXLAN/EVPN, VPN, QoS, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement Azure and hybrid cloud connectivity solutions while improving network security, segmentation, resiliency, and performance.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and network optimization.
• Drive architecture, technology evaluation, infrastructure modernization, and large-scale network projects through operational handoff.
• Maintain network standards, templates, diagrams, and documentation while mentoring engineers and collaborating with technical teams, vendors, and carriers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security.
• Strong experience with LAN/WAN, cloud networking, data centers, SD-WAN, and hybrid environments.
• Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and complex network troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Experience with enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools.
• Experience leading network projects, providing technical leadership, and communicating technical documentation clearly.

Nice to have

• CCNP, CCIE, or an equivalent networking certification.
• Microsoft Azure networking certification.
• AWS, Google Cloud, or other relevant networking and security certifications.
