Project Manager, Operations & IT (Biotech)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; onsite. Local candidates preferred. Applicants will be asked about current US work eligibility and whether visa sponsorship may be required now or in the future.

Base compensation: $85,000–$110,000 annually, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead complex, high-risk technology programs and projects from initiation through closeout, managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and interdependencies.
• Coach and mentor project managers responsible for smaller IT initiatives, providing guidance on planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and project management tools.
• Develop program roadmaps, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, dashboards, and portfolio-level reporting.
• Present concise program and portfolio updates to the COO, CFO, and broader leadership team.
• Establish and improve IT project and program management standards, governance, templates, and best practices.
• Partner with IT, R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Finance to align technology programs with business priorities and support change adoption.

Requirements

• BS plus at least 5 years, or MS plus at least 3 years, of relevant technical program or project management experience in business, IT, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex, cross-functional technology programs end to end.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing other project management professionals.
• Ability to create and present portfolio-level reporting and dashboards to executive leadership, including COO and CFO stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business and financial terms.
• Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies and tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or Asana.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP, LIMS, or CRM implementations; infrastructure or cloud programs; and cybersecurity or compliance-driven initiatives.
• Experience in life sciences, biotech, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent project or program management certification.
