Intellectual Property Counsel

Location: On-site in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States; at least four days per week at the hirify.global Center. Travel may include up to 10% domestic and international travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized.

Expected compensation: $188,251–$230,084, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications globally.
• Support opposition proceedings, inter partes reviews, litigation, and other IP disputes.
• Advise business clients on dispute management, transactions, compliance, and IP matters.
• Lead significant or complex IP transactional processes.
• Manage IP litigation and other dispute-resolution matters, including strategy development.
• Work with outside counsel, international colleagues, business-line leaders, and senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• At least three years of law firm or in-house intellectual property experience.
• Active membership in a United States state bar in good standing.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Must work on-site in Maplewood at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• Five years of law firm or in-house IP experience.
• Substantial experience drafting and prosecuting global patent applications.
• Experience with IP litigation and patent disputes.
• Admission to practice in Minnesota or eligibility for admission within six months of employment.
• Strong academic credentials, business acumen, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
