French-English Translator (Canadian French)

What you will do

• Translate business, marketing, training, presentation, digital, corporate, and product-related content between English and French.
• Localize content for French-speaking Canadian audiences, applying appropriate terminology, cultural context, and regional language conventions.
• Proofread and edit bilingual content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, terminology, consistency, readability, tone, and intent.
• Maintain translation glossaries, terminology databases, style guides, brand voice, and linguistic resources.
• Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to clarify terminology, context, messaging, and translation requirements.
• Perform quality assurance reviews, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

• Native or near-native written French and strong professional English proficiency.
• Professional experience translating between English and French.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in translation, localization, proofreading, bilingual communications, or a related area.
• Excellent French and English grammar, writing, editing, proofreading, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of Canadian French terminology and language conventions, or experience adapting French content for Canadian audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Modern Languages, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with marketing, corporate, consumer-facing, digital, or e-commerce content.
• Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or working in a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with CAT tools, translation memory software, terminology databases, or localization platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
