Commercial Credit Senior Associate, Not-for-Profit

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States of America; positions are also available in Hartford, New York City, and Baltimore.

Salary: $125,600.00–$209,400.00 USD per year.

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests and material modifications from deal screening through approval and throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor existing commercial loan portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, early-warning indicators, and problem-loan management.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, due diligence, credit reports, appraisals, industry research, and peer data.
• Prepare financial models, cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, guarantor analyses, and risk-rating recommendations.
• Partner with relationship managers and commercial credit analysts on transaction execution, client calls, credit approvals, and portfolio management.
• Present credit analyses, structure recommendations, risk considerations, and policy-compliance questions during credit discussions and committee presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement analysis, or related financial analysis; an alternative pathway requires 9 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 5 relevant years.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, credit-metric analysis, ratio interpretation, and trend analysis.
• Ability to understand and negotiate legal documentation, perform structural analysis, and independently structure transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, lead transaction execution teams, and build customer relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
• Experience training junior or newly hired analysts.
