Senior Software Engineer (AI SaaS)

Location: Remote, with working hours between UTC-6 and UTC+2

What you will do

• Architect and evolve backend systems using Scala, Play, Postgres, Redis, and AWS.
• Design and deploy scalable APIs and AI-assisted services.
• Own end-to-end feature development from ideation through production.
• Build frontend features with React, Redux, React Query, Chakra, and XState.
• Develop agent-driven workflows, internal tools, prompts, and engineering systems that improve delivery speed and code quality.
• Optimize frontend, backend, and AI-assisted pipelines and eventually lead a small team of 2–3 engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend experience with Scala or Java, Ruby, or C#.
• Strong JavaScript and React experience, including experience building and scaling SaaS products.
• Deep familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, including multi-session and agent-driven workflows.
• Experience designing systems, debugging AI-generated output, and creating internal development workflows or tooling.
• Ability to work within the UTC-6 to UTC+2 time-zone range and communicate effectively in an async-first environment.

• Functional programming experience.
• Experience building internal developer tools or platforms.
• Experience designing prompt systems or reusable AI workflows.
• Clear opinions about how software development will evolve over the next 3–5 years.
