Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Microsoft)

Location: Lisburn, United Kingdom; occasional visits to other sites and offices, travel, and participation in an on-call rotation are required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support resilient on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Linux systems, Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
• Maintain enterprise networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and identity protection solutions.
• Develop PowerShell automation, monitor infrastructure performance and security, and maintain ISO27001-aligned controls.
• Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, cloud adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
• Proven PowerShell scripting and automation experience, plus experience with Intune and endpoint compliance.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure, enterprise networking, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Experience with Windows and Linux administration, cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, ISO27001 controls, complex infrastructure projects, documentation, and stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience with Fortinet, Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, VMware, Hyper-V, or Veeam.
• Microsoft Azure, security, modern workplace, infrastructure, Fortinet, or VMware certifications.
• Experience in global multi-site enterprises, Agile delivery, manufacturing, industrial, or operational technology environments.
