Cyber Systems Engineer Technical Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; no remote or telework allowed

Salary: $5,000. Projected compensation range: $133,901.35–$232,828.46

What you will do

• Review contractor-delivered technical reports and assess cybersecurity program performance.
• Develop acquisition artifacts, execution reviews, roadmaps, transition plans, and readiness review briefings.
• Provide technical input for contract action packages, engineering change proposals, requests for proposals, and proposal analysis.
• Participate in hardware and software design reviews, requirements development, and requirements traceability activities.
• Analyze policies and procedures against federal laws and regulations, recommending actions to close compliance gaps.
• Develop strategies supporting privacy, risk management, information assurance, and cyber defense requirements.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• 10–12 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8–10 years with a master’s degree, or 5–7 years with a PhD.
• DoD 8570 IAT or IAM certification.
• Experience supporting project management, acquisitions, cybersecurity processes, and requirements analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to support senior-level government points of contact.
• Hands-on experience with Excel and database applications.

Nice to have

• STEM bachelor’s degree or advanced information assurance certification such as CISSP or CASP.
• Experience briefing senior customer personnel.
• Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and experience supporting the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
