Manager of Language Localization

Location: Hybrid role based in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States

An education organization extending higher-education programs to learners in their native languages through multilingual translation and localization.

What you will do

• Define the long-term translation and localization strategy, roadmap, goals, and quality metrics.
• Design and maintain end-to-end workflows covering assignment, translation, review, quality assurance, and release.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and manage translators, reviewers, linguists, contractors, and internal team members.
• Evaluate and implement translation management systems and computer-assisted translation tools, including terminology bases, style guides, and translation memories.
• Implement linguistic quality assurance, audits, back-translations, and compliance checks for sensitive or high-visibility content.
• Manage translation budgets, forecasts, reporting, cross-department collaboration, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in academic translation and localization management or related management roles.
• Fluency in English and at least two additional languages from Portuguese, Spanish, or French.
• Experience with TMS and CAT tools, translation memories, terminology bases, and glossaries.
• Experience translating and localizing higher-education materials or auditing and revising translated content.
• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, or Localization Management.
• Familiarity with machine translation and post-editing workflows.
• Experience with process design, documentation, and quality metrics.
• Willingness to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.
• Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
