Forward Deployed Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California; required to work from the San Francisco office two days per week.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, including base salary and performance-based incentive.

What you will do

• Partner with enterprise clients to define requirements, success criteria, and annotation guidelines for GenAI data solutions.
• Translate ambiguous client needs into scalable datasets, workflows, and automations.
• Deliver datasets that meet defined accuracy, reliability, performance, and acceptance criteria.
• Define validation and automation requirements to reduce variance, manual review, rework, and validation time.
• Partner with engineering to build scalable, reproducible, and observable data pipelines.
• Develop reusable quality frameworks and validators for use across multiple projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, data consulting, or data operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with GenAI, machine learning, or model evaluation data, including LLM training, annotation, or evaluation workflows.
• Consultative problem-solving skills and confidence leading client conversations and guiding stakeholders.
• Ability to use vibe coding; proficiency in Python and SQL is a plus.
• Confidence working directly with client engineering or machine learning teams.
