Production Leader (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois, United States. Onsite role in a manufacturing plant, working primarily on the 2nd shift from approximately 2:45 PM to 11:00 PM, with flexibility between shifts and required overtime as needed.

Base pay rate: $32.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Lead daily manufacturing activities and performance for one production line in a 24/7 fresh-baked food operation.
• Drive results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee engagement, and production efficiency.
• Monitor operational metrics, lead the Daily Direction Setting process, and implement corrective action plans.
• Coordinate labor schedules, staffing, production records, and cross-shift communication using systems such as SAP, Kronos, and Mini Miint.
• Coach, train, mentor, and develop hourly production employees while supporting change and engagement initiatives.
• Lead safety, food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and operational compliance activities.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience delivering operational results in safety, quality, schedule attainment, and cost management.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP, GMP, food safety, and quality requirements.
• Experience with A3, Root Cause Failure Analysis, 5 Why analysis, continuous improvement, and data-driven problem solving.
• Strong communication, coaching, training, facilitation, analytical, and team development skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, stand for extended periods, perform physical manufacturing duties, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of experience in food manufacturing.
• Associate degree or higher in Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Food Science, or a related field.
• Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment and advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing.
• Experience with SAP, Kronos, or similar production management systems.
• Experience leading change management and employee engagement initiatives.
