Software Engineer/Sr Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote within the United States, or hybrid with a minimum of 3 in-office days per week at the Hayward, California office. Remote employees must maintain core overlap with Pacific Time hours and attend periodic team onsites in Hayward.

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python services, including FastAPI REST APIs, batch jobs, and shared libraries.
• Implement features for claims processing, eligibility, and drug-pricing workflows.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, reports, and stored procedures for MySQL databases.
• Design, review, deploy, and support applications throughout the full software lifecycle.
• Collaborate across departments to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while owning code correctness, testing, and review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and Python RESTful APIs; FastAPI and MySQL are preferred.
• Knowledge of data structures, testing, version control with Git, Linux environments, Atlassian tools, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar, with the judgment to validate their output.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States without employer sponsorship, visa transfer support, DSO documentation, or future immigration support.

Nice to have

• Experience handling sensitive data or working with HIPAA/PHI.
• AWS exposure.
