Principal Software Development Engineer (Databases)

Location: Remote - Poland; working hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CET, Monday to Friday

Salary: PLN 185,848.80–278,773.20 per year

What you will do

• Develop, implement, test, optimize, and maintain media solutions.
• Investigate complex engineering issues involving data integrity, performance, scalability, and system stability.
• Analyze engine behavior in virtualized environments and debug complex end-to-end workflows.
• Translate functional specifications into detailed designs and guide implementation with engineering teams.
• Coordinate development and deliverables across distributed, multi-site teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Extensive experience with C, C++, STL, Boost, generics, algorithms, data structures, Microsoft Visual Studio, Win32 API, and COM/DCOM.
• Experience with Windows Server and Cluster environments, Apache, VMware, and application development and debugging in virtualized environments.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and continuous integration and deployment using GitHub.
• Knowledge of REST concepts and architectures, requirements analysis, performance optimization, scalability, and system stability.
• Fluent spoken and written English and availability to work remotely from Poland during CET business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL and other SQL databases.
• Experience with AI-based development assistants such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Programming experience with Golang.
• Experience deploying SaaS solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and monitoring tools such as Prometheus.
