TL;DR
Senior Compiler Engineer (C/C++/LLVM): Developing and optimizing compiler technologies for Intel CPU and GPU architectures with an accent on code generation, performance, scalability, and integration with new processor capabilities. Focus on implementing compiler features, analyzing workloads and benchmarks, improving compiler-generated code, and solving complex optimization and reliability challenges.

Location: Gdansk, Poland. Hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: PLN 200,400–457,640.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain compiler technologies and software components.
  • Implement new compiler features and resolve complex software defects.
  • Analyze applications, workloads, and benchmarks to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Improve the performance and efficiency of compiler-generated code for Intel CPU architectures.
  • Conduct functional, performance, scalability, and stress testing.
  • Partner with hardware architects and platform teams, collaborate across engineering groups, contribute to open-source compiler initiatives, and provide technical mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience using C/C++.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, CPU performance optimization, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to independently drive technical investigations and deliver solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in global engineering environments.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with vectorization, OpenMP, LLVM or similar compiler frameworks, assemblers, linkers, and low-level system software.
  • Knowledge of compiler optimizations, code generation, CPU architecture, performance analysis, and profiling tools such as perf.
