Reality Capture Specialist (BIM)

Location: Arlington, Virginia / Washington, D.C. metropolitan area; on-site work as assigned

What you will do

• Perform 3D laser scanning in offices, utility spaces, exterior campuses, and other field environments.
• Register and process point cloud data using Leica Cyclone and NavVis Ivion.
• Conduct control, topographic, and existing-conditions surveys using field procedures and scanning technologies.
• Coordinate fieldwork with internal teams and project stakeholders to maintain accuracy and schedule alignment.
• Organize data, perform quality control, and integrate scan data into design platforms and project deliverables.
• Maintain scanning equipment, follow field procedures, and travel locally to scanning sites as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with terrestrial laser scanning and point cloud registration.
• Strong understanding of field-to-office workflows and data QA/QC practices.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical teams.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background screening are required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD for point cloud integration.
• Proficiency in Leica Cyclone and familiarity with BIM processes in A/E/C environments.
• Manufacturer-certified training in Leica or NavVis scanning equipment and point cloud processing.
