TL;DR
Senior Platform Engineer (DevEx and Cloud Ops) (AWS/Cloud Platform): Building platform capabilities, developer tooling, infrastructure and deployment patterns that help engineering teams develop, deploy and operate software reliably with an accent on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, security and FinOps. Focus on improving developer self-service, evolving AI-assisted engineering workflows, solving complex reliability and scalability challenges, and reducing operational friction and cloud cost.
Location: Hybrid in Manchester, UK, with two office days per week, usually Tuesday and Wednesday

What you will do
- Build scalable platform solutions, self-service tooling, reusable infrastructure and deployment patterns.
- Develop CI/CD capabilities and improve the reliability, scalability and performance of AWS cloud systems.
- Improve developer experience by reducing friction and helping teams understand system performance and cloud costs.
- Contribute to observability, security, FinOps, incident response and occasional on-call support.
- Own complex technical problems, make pragmatic engineering decisions and help shape the platform roadmap.
- Support engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in platform engineering, cloud, infrastructure or developer tooling.
- Experience with AWS and modern cloud-native environments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code, containers, CI/CD, observability, automation or developer tooling.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments, reliability, incident management, security and cloud cost management.
- Ability to understand complex systems, make engineering trade-offs and turn ambiguous problems into practical solutions.
- Comfort working across team boundaries and improving the experience of engineers who use internal platforms.

- Experience with AI-assisted engineering and automation.
- Experience mentoring engineers and sharing technical knowledge.
