Sr. Director, Platform Engineering (Fintech)

Location: Warsaw, Poland (hybrid)

Annual base salary: PLN 531,100–671,650, plus potential variable compensation and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Define and execute a multi-year platform engineering strategy for hirify.global’s core infrastructure and SaaS modernization.
• Lead the transition from monolithic systems to domain-driven microservices with standardized APIs, domain models, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
• Build real-time, event-driven financial workflows using Kafka, event-streaming microservices, workflow engines, and distributed data services.
• Develop platform infrastructure for LLMs, agentic AI workflows, predictive cash forecasting, vector stores, and auditable low-latency execution.
• Build internal developer portals and self-service tooling for cloud provisioning, service templates, observability, and deployment pipelines.
• Lead platform product management, operational excellence, incident management, reliability engineering, and cross-functional executive collaboration.

Requirements

• Proven leadership of Platform, Distributed Systems, or AI Engineering organizations for large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Deep expertise in event-driven architecture, Kafka, API design, workflow engines, distributed databases, and high-throughput data processing.
• Hands-on experience modernizing monoliths into cloud-native microservices without disrupting business continuity.
• Experience managing internal developer platforms and tools as products.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, agentic workflows, LLM orchestration, and vector data storage.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including at least 5 years managing multi-squad platform organizations; a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling distributed engineering talent in international environments.
• Experience establishing SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, DORA metrics, and 99.99% availability standards.
