Engineering Manager - Fintech Engineering (m/f/n)

Building an international fintech platform from the ground up as part of a large-scale e-commerce and logistics ecosystem.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, onboard, mentor, and develop a team of 4–5 senior engineers.
• Co-author the product roadmap with Product Management and incorporate engineering constraints and opportunities into planning.
• Own end-to-end delivery, including sprint planning, dependency mapping, risk identification, and stakeholder communication.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture guidance, code review standards, testing practices, and engineering excellence.
• Build an AI-first, agentic engineering culture using AI tools, harnesses, DORA metrics, cycle time, and adoption data.
• Lead incident response, post-mortems, remediation, and continuous reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend software development experience.
• 2+ years of direct people leadership experience managing engineers.
• 2+ years of experience in payments or fintech products.
• Very good English proficiency at B2+ level, spoken and written.
• Strong technical credibility with active involvement in architecture and code reviews.
• Experience with delivery management, product roadmap collaboration, DORA metrics, and data-driven team management.

Nice to have

• Platform or infrastructure team management experience.
• Experience with OKR or engineering goal-setting frameworks.
• Familiarity with compensation and leveling frameworks.
• Experience designing agentic or AI-native engineering cultures.
• Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
