Principal D365 Business Central Developer (Microsoft Dynamics 365)

Salary: £85,000–£95,000 per annum

What you will do

• Act as the technical design authority for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions.
• Lead the design and delivery of complex Business Central extensions, customisations, and customer implementations.
• Define architecture across Business Central, integrations, Dataverse, and Power Platform.
• Establish coding, testing, branching, release, ALM, source-control, and CI/CD standards using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Lead technical design reviews, mentor developers, and support enterprise opportunities and pre-sales engagements.
• Drive performance, observability, security, operational resilience, incident response, and responsible AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• Deep, demonstrable AL and D365 Business Central development experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Business Central extension model and underlying platform.
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex Business Central solutions into production.
• Strong integration experience with APIs, web services, Dataverse, and Power Platform.
• Experience with ALM, source control, automated testing, and CI/CD, including Business Central SaaS and ideally on-premises environments.
• Knowledge of Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing, plus experience mentoring developers and setting technical standards.

Nice to have

• MB-820 certification or related experience.
• Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Power BI.
• Experience with ISV or product-led development.
• Experience with agentic or AI-assisted development.
