Senior Backend Developer (Java or Python)

Location: Hybrid in Warsaw, Gdańsk, or Gdynia, Poland; 3 days per week in the office

Rate: up to 130 PLN/hour net + VAT

What you will do

• Design and implement features for an Automated Security Retest Engine.
• Develop and maintain a Python processing pipeline and a Java Spring Boot web application.
• Integrate external tools and APIs, including security testing tools.
• Improve the reliability and quality of generated tests, security analysis, and remediation verification.
• Write automated tests, investigate defects, maintain documentation, and collaborate with security and product stakeholders.
• Protect target scope, credentials, and user data while validating inputs and preserving reliable retest evidence.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience with Python and/or Java.
• Experience developing and maintaining backend applications and REST APIs.
• For Java, familiarity with Spring Boot; for Python, experience with modular application design, dependency management, and automated testing.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, using Git, and participating in code reviews.
• Understanding of secure software development, including input validation, authentication, authorization, and safe handling of secrets.
• Good written and spoken English is required; the role is hybrid in Poland with three office days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with both Python and Java/Spring Boot.
• LLM API integration or LLM-assisted workflows with structured-output validation and error handling.
• Application security testing experience, especially DAST, SAST, OWASP ZAP, Nuclei, Semgrep, or security-test automation.
• Experience with PDF processing, OCR, document extraction, SQL databases, Maven, CI/CD, Docker, or cloud services.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, or Thymeleaf.
