Senior Python & Java Developer with Apache Spark

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week from the office in Gdynia, Gdańsk, or Warszawa, Poland

Salary: 1,000–1,300 PLN per day on a B2B contract

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for capital-markets AML detection scenarios.
• Build detection logic, rule frameworks, scoring components, and alerting capabilities for financial-crime use cases.
• Develop large-scale distributed data processing solutions with Python, Java, Apache Spark, and SQL.
• Contribute to the greenfield architecture for monitoring suspicious activity across FX, equities, derivatives, and bonds.
• Maintain engineering quality across code, data pipelines, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
• Collaborate in an Agile, cross-functional environment while taking ownership of delivery and technical solutions.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with strong programming skills in Python and Java.
• Advanced experience with Apache Spark, including PySpark, and SQL for large-scale distributed data processing.
• Hands-on experience with distributed compute platforms and on-premise cluster environments.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo and Jenkins, as well as Bitbucket.
• Experience working in Agile teams, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent-working skills.
• Availability to work hybrid from an office in Gdynia, Gdańsk, or Warszawa three days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Capital Markets products such as FX, equities, derivatives, and bonds.
• Experience in financial crime, AML, surveillance, or rule-based detection systems.
• Experience with scorecards, alerting frameworks, automation, workflow orchestration, data validation, and testing frameworks.
• Experience delivering non-functional requirements involving performance, scalability, observability, data quality, resiliency, and security.
• Experience integrating solutions with third-party systems such as case management platforms.
