Senior Portfolio Accounting Analyst (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with work from the office 4 days per week and remote flexibility 1 day per week.

Base salary: USD 90,000–180,000 per year.

What you will do

• Research and resolve reconciliation items between Wellington and client custodians, prime brokers, and accounting agents.
• Work with internal groups to investigate position, cash, and market value differences using bank portals.
• Identify break patterns and opportunities to improve processes and controls.
• Analyze bank data to improve reconciliation quality and maintain concise documentation and audit trails.
• Collaborate with and guide outsourced team members on escalated issues and inquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Experience in accounting, custody, and/or reconciliation.
• Experience working with data in Excel.
• Deep understanding of accounting for fixed income and equity, with baseline knowledge of derivatives and synthetic exposures.
• Strong communication, investigation, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Comfort working across a global, collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SQL or Python.
