SoC Power Thermal Performance Val & Opt Engineer (Contract)

Location: Hybrid role based at an hirify.global site in Hillsboro, Oregon, or Austin, Texas, United States

Annual salary range: $52,000–$200,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop and execute SoC-level power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization plans across hirify.global products.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, software, verification, and platform teams to meet technical specifications and business KPIs.
• Debug SoC-level power, thermal, and performance failures, identify root causes, and resolve functional and triage issues.
• Configure data loggers, analyze thermal data, and maintain performance monitors, behavioral checkers, and testing environments.
• Prepare validation reports and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Improve validation strategies, methodologies, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in SoC power and performance validation, pre-silicon simulation and emulation, and power/performance KPI development or optimization.
• At least 2 years of experience debugging SoC-level power, thermal, and performance failures and validating hardware/software optimizations.
• Experience with silicon verification, test program development, test plan execution, and Python programming.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD degree and experience with SoC FPGA/emulation, system-level debug, or pre-silicon HW/FW/SW integration.
• Experience with logic simulation, virtual platforms, FPGA, or emulation.
• Knowledge of system-level power management, performance modeling, benchmarking, and validation infrastructure.
• Familiarity with MIPI MPHY, JTAG, DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SPMI, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
