Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Go): Building and scaling internal backend platforms that provide support agents with reliable tools and accurate data across Grab's ecosystem with an accent on high availability, performance, and distributed systems. Focus on designing large-scale services, optimizing capacity and latency, analyzing production performance, and solving incidents through root cause analysis.
Location: On-site in HCMC, Vietnam

What you will do
- Design and develop backend services in Go for high availability, scalability, low latency, and efficiency.
- Explore and implement architectures for large-scale systems and performance-critical services.
- Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, tuning, optimization, and root cause investigations.
- Collaborate with product, experience, and infrastructure teams to define features and scale backend services.
- Debug and resolve production incidents during on-call shifts.
- Participate in code and design reviews, interviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems environments.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, system performance, and scaling.
- Experience running large-scale web services; knowledge of systems internals and networking is beneficial.
- Proficient English communication skills.
- Experience with a programming language such as C++, C, Java, Scala, Rust, Haskell, OCaml, Erlang, Python, Ruby, PHP, Node, or C#, with willingness to work with Go.
