Principle Electrical Engineer (ASU)

Location: Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. Onsite role with standard business hours and flexibility for global coordination, project peaks, critical milestones, and reporting. Travel: 0–10% domestic or international travel, with possible short- or long-term site assignments.

What you will do

• Lead electrical engineering execution for global Air Separation Unit projects and supervise engineering resources.
• Review and approve SLDs, schematics, load lists, cable schedules, grounding studies, and protection coordination.
• Develop and validate specifications for transformers, motors, switchgear, MCCs, and drives.
• Resolve complex electrical engineering issues across project phases and coordinate with mechanical, piping, PACO, civil/structural, and process disciplines.
• Support design reviews, constructability assessments, vendor evaluations, FAT activities, and supplier document reviews.
• Provide engineering support during construction, energization, commissioning, and start-up while promoting safe-to-construct, safe-to-operate, and safe-to-maintain designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience with a strong ASU or process industry background.
• Supervisory experience managing electrical engineers and designers.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, grounding, protection systems, and hazardous area design.
• Proficiency with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and IS codes, plus electrical analysis tools such as ETAP or SKM.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, multidisciplinary collaboration, and safety leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in global EPC/EPCM execution environments.
• Experience with 3D model integration and digital engineering systems.
• Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent certification.
