Lead Test & Validation Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $145,000–$177,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Test & Validation Engineering team, setting priorities, providing technical direction, and aligning execution with program needs.
• Develop validation strategies and repeatable test methods for R&D, design exploration, design validation, and lifetime reliability programs.
• Lead complete-robot validation testing, including task and load characterization, durability testing, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition.
• Establish standards for test design, execution, data collection, analysis, tracking, and technical reporting.
• Manage test equipment and laboratory assets, including budgeting, procurement, capacity planning, and readiness.
• Report test execution, risks, results, and program readiness to engineering and company leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Test & Validation, Design Validation, Reliability Test, or related engineering work involving complex hardware.
• Experience leading Test and Validation Engineers through complex projects and cross-functional execution.
• Experience testing robotic systems or complex electromechanical assemblies, including robot-level task/load characterization or durability testing.
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition, environmental chambers, vibration systems, HALT, mechanical actuation, and motor or drive-unit dynamometers.
• Strong experience with test planning, data collection, analysis, tracking, technical reporting, and team leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience leading both rapid R&D or design exploration testing and long-duration reliability or lifetime validation programs.
• Experience standardizing test processes, templates, data practices, or laboratory workflows.
• Experience managing test equipment budgets, procurement, capacity planning, and utilization.
• Background in robotics, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or other complex electromechanical hardware environments.
