Head of Quality Engineering (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build and lead the Quality Engineering organization, including Quality Engineers and the Quality Technician Supervisor.
• Own quality across new product introduction, production quality, incoming inspection, MRB, and quality systems.
• Translate design requirements into manufacturing controls, inspection strategies, control plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead PFMEA development and establish prevention, detection, and reaction controls with Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Resolve production and incoming quality issues through containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of durable fixes.
• Use inspection, metrology, defect trends, and production feedback to improve motors, batteries, electronics, structural assemblies, and other robot systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering management within complex hardware, electromechanical, automotive, aerospace, robotics, or similarly demanding manufacturing environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Materials, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience leading Quality Engineers and technical quality teams through new product introduction and production ramp.
• Strong expertise in manufacturing quality controls, inspection, metrology, process validation, control plans, PFMEA, and corrective action processes.
• Deep experience with structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and practical quality systems.
• Strong cross-functional leadership across engineering, supply chain, operations, software, and senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling quality engineering organizations through rapid production growth or high-rate NPI.
• Experience with robotics, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, or vertically integrated electromechanical products.
• Experience improving MRB, incoming inspection, metrology, and production quality operating systems.
• Familiarity with statistical quality methods, process capability, measurement system analysis, and data-driven quality reporting.
• Experience building quality systems from first principles in a startup or rapidly scaling manufacturing environment.
