TL;DR

Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing Quality) - Asia (Aerospace): Driving supplier improvements, audits, and quality-system development across Asian manufacturing partners with an accent on AS9100 processes, commodity quality systems, and supplier performance. Focus on developing electronics, metals, plastics, assembly, test, and cable suppliers, closing SCARs, reviewing first article inspections, and applying statistical process control and Lean Six Sigma tools.

What you will do

Audit suppliers across Asia to onboard new suppliers and mitigate quality risks.
Develop underperforming suppliers through AS9100 process and system improvements.
Support quality across electronics, metals, plastics, assembly and test, optics, and cable and harness manufacturing.
Improve metrics for supplier onboarding, surveillance, SCAR closure, field performance, and core supplier performance.
Build supplier partnerships that improve quality, reduce costs, and strengthen supplier ownership of quality reporting.
Review first article inspections, mentor quality engineers, and standardize quality processes, data, and metrics.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in supplier quality and 7+ years in quality engineering or continuous improvement.
Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures, process guidelines, and quality data.
Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, with the ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 40%.

Nice to have

Experience across fabricated metals, plastics, electronics and PCB/PCBA manufacturing, box-build assembly and test, optics, lasers, or cables and connectors.
Experience with spaceflight hardware or aerospace quality-system requirements.
Lean Six Sigma belt certification and practical use of FMEA, 8D, A3, 5 Why, cause-and-effect, fault-tree analysis, and other failure-analysis tools.
Experience with PLM tools such as Agile and ERP systems such as Oracle.
