Manufacturing Equipment Engineer 2 (Automation)

Location: Singapore - Woodlands - NorthTech; onsite manufacturing role with possible rotating 12-hour shifts from 08:00–20:15 or 20:00–08:15.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for smart manufacturing equipment in a high-volume consumables production environment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements across optical, mechanical, electrical, fluidics, pneumatic, PLC, and HMI systems.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives, manage equipment maintenance work instructions, and identify opportunities to automate manual processes.
• Lead equipment incident investigations, prepare formal reports, and communicate findings to relevant teams.
• Coordinate shift activities and priorities to meet production schedules, equipment targets, supply needs, and KPIs.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Technicians and Engineers, including PLC and automation troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 2+ years of experience, or a relevant Diploma with 8+ years of manufacturing or production experience.
• Experience in a GMP-controlled manufacturing or production environment and compliance with cGMP, quality, safety, and work-instruction requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical, electronics, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, plus experience designing automatic control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC and HMI process-control automation systems, including Beckhoff or Allen-Bradley PLCs, and reading engineering drawings.
• Experience writing procedures and training programs, with strong documentation, communication, project-management, and independent-working skills.
• For shift work, availability for rotating 12-hour day and night shifts is required; the role also involves noisy and chemical environments, PPE, color identification, and lifting up to 15 kg.

Nice to have

• Experience with Statistical Process Control, JMP, and DOE techniques.
