Supplier Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Singapore or Malaysia; local office-based position

hirify.global operates the SS&P SEA organization, which coordinates technical collaboration with suppliers and engineering teams across Southeast Asia and other regions.

What you will do

• Act as the technical interface between engineering teams and suppliers for repair parts, components, modules, new parts, and transfers.
• Drive proactive quality management through early supplier involvement, design reviews, and design-for-manufacturing, assembly, testing, and cost activities.
• Manage technical deliverables and documentation, including statements of work, prototype evaluation reports, test coverage documents, first article inspections, MFLOW, PFMEA, and customer acceptance tests.
• Manage material quality notifications and deviation notices while resolving part-quality issues with structured problem-solving techniques.
• Monitor supplier KPIs and statistical process control, identify improvement opportunities, and support supplier audits.
• Represent the technical function in Supplier Account Teams, develop supplier technology roadmaps, and contribute to supplier selection decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, systems and control, or industrial engineering.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes in an electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics field.
• Ability to initiate, influence, make decisions, and deliver results with a pragmatic approach.
• Strong networking and communication skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Understanding of change management principles, including bill of materials structures and engineering changes.
• Experience with quality systems and methods such as Six Sigma and engineering related to production processes is encouraged.
