Quality Inspector, Receiving (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. The role requires access to ITAR-controlled information and items; candidates must be U.S. persons or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Hourly pay: $30–$45, plus equity.

What you will do

• Perform receiving and in-process inspections of mechanical parts, electronic assemblies, harnesses, flight hardware, and production materials.
• Verify hardware against drawings, purchase requirements, specifications, certifications, and workmanship requirements.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, and other precision equipment.
• Review supplier documentation, including certificates of conformance, material certifications, inspection reports, and FAIR documentation.
• Record inspection results and maintain hardware traceability in ERP, MES, and QMS systems.
• Identify and document nonconformances, support issue disposition and supplier escape investigations, and improve receiving inspection throughput.

Requirements

• 3+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, precision machining, automotive, medical device, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T fundamentals.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for inventory and inspection tracking.
• Knowledge of ESD handling procedures and ITAR compliance requirements.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Aerospace receiving inspection experience.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems.
• Experience reviewing drawings for improper callouts and datum structures according to ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with receiving and inventory transactions in an ERP system.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
