Engineering Manager, Knowledge Graph Platform (AI)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $217,000–$303,900 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop an engineering team building the Knowledge Graph Platform.
• Set the technical direction and roadmap for scalable knowledge graph services, including data contracts, APIs, reliability, observability, performance, and developer experience.
• Establish SLOs, data-quality measures, governance mechanisms, and safe change-management practices.
• Partner with engineers, computational linguists, domain experts, product teams, and data labelers on ontology, coverage, freshness, and platform adoption.
• Drive graph-powered capabilities for shopping, search, ads marketplace models, and consumer feeds.
• Communicate strategy, priorities, risks, and progress across a distributed, cross-functional organization while contributing to architecture and technical design.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing, coaching, and developing engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building or operating AI/ML-powered or data-intensive platforms serving multiple internal customers.
• Experience creating data or service-level contracts, documentation, operating models, and self-service adoption paths.
• Strong technical judgment across distributed systems, backend services, data platforms, APIs, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including working with senior leaders and partner teams across time zones.

Nice to have

• Master’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic or ontology systems, entity resolution, search, or contextual grounding.
