Chemical Engineer Spring Intern

Location: Newark, Delaware, United States. Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. Spring 2027, five-month assignment from January to May 2027.

What you will do

• Support process technology development projects with experienced research and development professionals.
• Design, construct, operate, and optimize laboratory-scale unit operations, including reactors, filters, ovens, mixers, and pumps.
• Conduct experiments, interpret results, and perform literature reviews to support process optimization and new process development.
• Participate in process safety management activities and reviews.
• Analyze, record, and share project data while contributing to team meetings and conference calls.
• Handle chemicals safely and operate chemical processes in accordance with safety requirements.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university as a junior or above during the assignment.
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a similar field.
• Immigration sponsorship, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, TN, or other non-immigrant status sponsorship, is not available.
• Ability to perform the listed duties with or without accommodation.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Industrial or academic experience with reaction engineering, thermodynamics, titration, filtration, or distillation.
• Experience working with chemicals.
• Hands-on experience building laboratory setups.
