What you will do

• Lead and continuously improve site Process Safety Management and Risk Management Program systems.
• Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses, HAZOPs, What-If reviews, LOPA, and other process risk assessments.
• Track PHA recommendations, process safety action items, and corrective actions through completion.
• Lead Management of Change reviews and support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for new or modified processes and equipment.
• Maintain process safety information, including P&IDs, PFDs, equipment specifications, safeguards, interlocks, and pressure relief systems.
• Investigate process safety incidents, support audits and inspections, evaluate capital projects, and deliver process safety training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of experience in process safety, chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, specialty chemicals, or a related industrial environment.
• Expertise in OSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Program requirements.
• Experience facilitating PHA, HAZOP, or other process risk assessments, with working knowledge of MOC, PSSR, Mechanical Integrity, and incident investigation.
• Strong understanding of chemical process operations, engineering principles, risk assessment, technical problem-solving, communication, and organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• PE, CSP, CCPSC, or similar professional certification.
• Experience with highly hazardous chemical processes, LOPA, consequence modeling, Safety Instrumented Systems, process interlocks, safeguards, or alarm management.
• Knowledge of emergency response programs and standards such as OSHA VPP, RC14001, ISO 14001, or Responsible Care.
